Our Founders

Robert M. Myers is President of Helping People Who Help People, Foundation, Inc. (“HPWHP” or “Foundation”). His passion for helping his fellow man was sparked in 2004 when GOD gave him a vision of a turtle lying on his back and unable to turn over onto its legs. GOD said in order for that turtle to get off its back someone has to help it. He said just like that turtle, man often finds himself on his back and unable to get up on its own. GOD said, “I want you to use what I have given you to help man to get up and follow Me.” In obedience to GOD, Robert joined and became the ministry leader of one of the outreach ministries of the church where he is a member. The ministry serves over 3,000 meals per year to homeless and disenfranchised individuals in Washington, DC, Maryland, and surrounding communities. Robert’s experience encompased being responsible for approving requests for financial assistance from individuals undergoing financial crisis and needing help with their housing and utility expenses; and founding an effort, “Infrastructure for Change (“IFC”),” that provided financial assistance to other 501(c)(3) organizations whose mission is to help those in the community in need.

Wanting to expand financial support beyond what he does as a member of his church, and to expand support for 501(c)(3) organizations with the same focus to help those in need, in February 2011, Robert, along with Nicola R. Myers, created the Foundation. Nicola is Vice President of HPWHP. She has served in outreach ministry for over 12 years and currently leads in praise and worship.
